Television Show Opens
So, What's an Open?
When I refer to a television open, I mean the introductory opening graphics and titles.Yes, I did have a hand in most of the other graphics in the middle and end of the television shows, but only the opens are featured on this page. Many times, parts of the opening graphics are used for the end credits, but none are featured here.
The work sampled on this page is from broadcast graphics work I perfomed between the years 2000 and 2005. Home Renovation Ideas was done as a freelance broadcast graphics project, while the rest was done while employed at Mirage Video & Post, located in Pompano Beach, Florida.
As mentioned in the television overview page, this is the only body of work I was able to save from my employment with Mirage Video & Post. And, as you'll notice, I was not able to save any of the music that goes along with it. However, I think it is enough to communicate what I can do.
A Little Something About the Productions
As is normal with many of the television shows we regularly watch, especially the build-it/customize-it reality shows out there, these productions earn much of their income from the discrete placement of clients' products within the episodes. Present a problem; solve it with the client's merchandise...you get the idea. Still, each television show was an informative and entertaining vehicle, so no harm done.
While I don't think any of the featured television shows are on the air any longer, below is a short description of each one.
Auto Trends - The show was, obviously, about cars and driving. Each eposide informed the audience about how to take care of their vehicle (using the clients' products, of course). Auto Trends was my first television show open production.
Home Renovation Ideas - Freelance broadcast graphics project. This show, which I believe never got off the ground beyond the pilot stage, featured building and home renovation solutions.
Men's View Point - Men's views, toys, social issues, toys, sports, toys, self-help, toys, clothing, and toys! Anything that appealed to men was fair game on this show.
No Place Like Home - One of the more popular television shows we produced, each episode featured everything from fixing the faucet, to making time for your family. This show had a wide scope of appeal and many eposodes were produced in its time.
Strategic Business Report - Covered less-timely business matters, mostly in the form of general company overviews and interviews with company officers.
Web100 - Each episode featured a new and/or noteworthy website. Everything from interviews with webmasters and company officers to what made the site special.
